Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Chapter

The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater East Ohio is searching for an outgoing, enthusiastic and highly organized individual who thrives on fundraising through special event planning, donor cultivation and public relations. Are you that person? If so, then we encourage you to apply for the Community Development Coordinator position in our Canfield office. This team member is charged with developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating special event fund-raising and public relations activities throughout our service territory with a special emphasis in the Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana areas.
The primary responsibilities include advancing all facets of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Annual Forget-Me-Not Gala in Youngstown and the association’s two area Memory Walks in Warren and Canfield. These duties include, securing sponsors and obtaining in-kind contributions, securing team captains, overseeing all event logistics, coordinating volunteers and committee members, preparing marketing materials and serving as the organization’s liaison with donors and participants. Additionally, this individual will also be responsible for the Public Relations activities throughout our 17 county area including the development of press releases, pitching news stories to area media outlets and overseeing the organization’s semi-annual newsletter.
The successful candidate will be experienced in special event planning, building relationships with community leaders, community agencies, potential donors and the media. Additionally, this person will have a passion and comfort level representing the organization at monthly community networking meetings and work with outside groups that wish to hold third party fundraisers benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. A Bachelor’s degree and two years experience preferred. Some knowledge of issues impacting older adults, community services and Alzheimer’s disease helpful. This is a full time position with a great benefits package.
